The Yao Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season is a social charitable event founded by Yao Foundation, China Youth Development Foundation. The aim of the event is to offer opportunities to the students of the Hope Primary School to gain an understanding towards basketball, to experience sportsmanship, to enjoy sports and exercises, and to facilitate the healthy growth of both body and mind of the children through basketball matches and sports-starter events. Pou Sheng International has been cooperating with the Yao Foundation since 2015 to join hands in promoting sports-related social charitable events, one of the major games being the Hope Primary School Basketball Season.
On 23 July 2016, Mr. Kwan, Heh-Der, the CEO of Pou Sheng
International, was present at the Yao Foundation Hope Primary School basketball
match in Chengdu, and watched the game with Mr. Yao Ming and other guests, during
which the “Basketball Steeplechase” title-sponsored by Pou Sheng International was
held. Qubi You-zhe (曲比有者), a 12-year-old student at the Sichuan Province Liangshan
Prefecture Zhaojiao County Riha Center School (四川省涼山州昭覺縣日哈鄉中心學校), won the championship by
finishing the steeplechase in merely 18 seconds. CEO Mr. Kwan presented the
trophy and prizes to this student. The Yao Foundation Hope Primary School
Basketball Season ended in Yinchuan on 31 July 2016. During the closing
ceremony, Mr. Chen Kuo-Lung, the vice executive general manager of Pou Sheng
International, on behalf of Pou Sheng International, accepted the “Special
Contribution Award” from Mr. Yao Ming. The Pou Sheng Charitable Fund has been
one of the endeavors of Pou Sheng International, and the appreciation received
from the Yao Foundation represents the social recognition of the determination
of the Pou Sheng Charitable Fund. Going forward, Pou Sheng International will
further the efforts of the Pou Sheng Charitable Fund, so as to serve the wider
public and to reciprocate the society.
